This group covers R&D directed towards fixed line, mobile and satellite communication networks and services. It includes videoconference services.
This group has seven objectives:

    890101 Fixed Line Data Networks and Services
    890102 Fixed Line Telephone Networks and Services
    890103 Mobile Data Networks and Services
    890104 Mobile Telephone Networks and Services
    890105 Satellite Communication Networks and Services
    890106 Videoconference Services
    890199 Communication Networks and Services not elsewhere classified

    Exclusions:
    a) Development and manufacture of communication equipment is included in Group 8617 Communication Equipment.
    b) Installation of communications networks in buildings is included in Group 8705 Building Management and Services.
    c) Broadcasting is included in Group 8904 Media Services.
