Purpose
To provide information on freight shipments by sea, air and mail into and out of Australia.

Description
The database is based on ABS trade statistics which are extended to include vessel details.

Data Detail

Weight and value of cargo;
Country of final destination/origin;
Port of overseas loading/unloading;
Service type-liner/conference, non-conference;
Ship type;
Date (year/quarter);
Commodity code (ATFCC);
State of origin or destination; and
Australian unloading port/loading port.

Geographic Coverage
Australian ports and States, overseas ports and countries.

Frequency of Data Availability
Data are available quarterly.

Historical Data
Data are available from 1982-83(sea), 1995-96(air), and 1996-97(mail).
