Purpose
To provide information to enable the establishment of a Tasmanian strategic freight network.
Description
The survey collected information about Tasmanian heavy freight traffic by personal interview of the 100 largest demanders of heavy freight transport in Tasmania and, where necessary, follow up interviews with transport providers.

  • Origin and destination;
  • Number of trips and routes used;
  • Tonnes;
  • Value;
  • Industry (ANZSIC);
  • Vehicle class (AustRoads);
  • Commodity Code (ATFCC) and
  • Road Classification (Tasmanian Road Information Management System - RIMS).

Geographic Coverage
Tasmania.

The collection has been conducted once.
