As at 30 June 2012, a web presence was reported by 45% of all Australian businesses. This includes businesses with a website, home page or other web presence but not those listed as part of a web directory.

The likelihood of businesses having a web presence increased with each successive employment size range, from 34% of businesses with 0-4 persons employed to 97% of businesses with 200 or more persons employed.

Businesses in Information media and telecommunications and Arts and recreation services were most likely to report a web presence (both over 70%). Conversely, less than 20% of businesses in the Agriculture, forestry and fishing and Transport, postal and warehousing industries reported a web presence.
