This group covers R&D directed towards improving the preparation, handling or storage of primary animal products such as eggs, honey, raw wool, unprocessed or minimally processed fish or milk, and other animal fibres, hides and skins.
This group has eight objectives:

Exclusions:
a) Improving the characteristics and harvesting of fisheries is included in Groups 8301 Fisheries - Aquaculture and 8302 Fisheries - Wild Caught.
b) Raising livestock from which these products are obtained is included in Group 8303 Livestock Raising.
c) Animal welfare is included in Group 8399 Other Animal Production and Animal Primary Products.
d) Manufacture of processed products from primary animal products is included in Division 86 Manufacturing.
e) Transportation of live animals or animal products is included in Division 88 Transport.
