Over 5500 Census Collector jobs available in Queensland
Are you looking to earn some extra money while working in your local community?
The Australian Bureau of Statistics is launching a recruitment drive for over 5500 Collectors in Queensland, to reach every suburb and town during the 2011 Census.
These Collectors will form the Queensland contingent of a 29,000-strong army of Collectors across Australia who'll work on the Census this year.
The part-time positions involve distributing and collecting Census forms to 740,000 households right across the state, from Brisbane to Boulia and everywhere in between.
Queensland's Census Director, Sally Pritchard, says the ABS is looking for community-minded, well-organised people to apply for the Collector roles.
"People who enjoy getting out and about within their local community often make excellent Collectors," Ms Pritchard said.
"This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to earn a bit of extra money to top-up their usual income, or is just looking for something special and interesting to be involved in that is relevant to every person in Australia."
ABS Census information is broadly used by governments, businesses and individuals across Australia for planning and analysis.
Census Collectors will be employed from 1 July to 8 September, and will earn between $1,300 and $2,800.
Applications are open from 9 April to 5 May - apply online at abs.gov.au/census
