Record 65 Census Collector jobs available in Griffith and surrounds
The Australian Bureau of Statistics is looking for a record 65 Census Collectors in Griffith and surrounding areas to help conduct the Census on 9 August 2011.
These Collectors will join an army of 8,200 in NSW who will pound the pavement to deliver and collect more than four million Census forms to NSW's 3.1 million households.
Newly appointed Griffith Area Supervisor Anne Napoli is just one of many committed Census Area Supervisors currently looking for quality local Collectors to help her get the job done.
Anne Napoli, who was raised in Italy and has lived in the region since she was 10, is passionate about recruiting Census Collectors who are representative of their area.
“We’ve got 72 different nationalities here which makes it a real a multicultural community and it has worked well," Anne Napoli says.
"My aim is to employ Census Collectors from the widest possible cultural backgrounds so that we can capture a full picture of the region's diversity."
As a Griffith City Councillor and former Deputy Mayor, Anne is passionate about the importance of Census data and is looking for Collectors who also have strong roots in the community.
"History and information shape the future and Collectors play a large role in Australia's future direction."
"I'm really looking for good local Collectors who know their area and want to serve their community while making some extra cash," Anne adds.
Census Collectors will receive between $1,300 and $2,800 for the casual position and will be employed from 1 July until 8 September 2011.
Applications are open from 9 April until 5 May. Apply online at www.abs.gov.au/census or call 1800 420 182.
