  • Ensures safe and efficient boarding and disembarking of passengers from trains
  • Controls crowd movements and ensures the safety of passengers around a railway station
  • Monitors ticket barriers
  • Announces the arrival and departure of train services
  • Assists passengers with information regarding train schedules, delays and any disruptions to services
  • May check and sell tickets on regional and long-haul services

  • Reports any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate authorities for action
