Cattle (excluding calves):
In the December quarter 2011, the number of cattle slaughtered (excluding calves) remained steady at 1.8 million.

Calves:
The number of calves slaughtered in the December quarter 2011 decreased by 4% to 162 thousand when compared to the previous quarter.

Sheep:
The number of sheep slaughtered in the December quarter 2011 increased by 5% to 1.3 million when compared to the previous quarter.

Lambs:
Lamb slaughterings in the December quarter 2011 remained steady at 4.5 million.

Pigs:
Pig slaughterings in the December quarter 2011 remained steady at 1.2 million when compared to the previous quarter.

Chickens
Chicken slaughterings in the December quarter 2011 decreased by 1% to 135.0 million when compared to the previous quarter.
