WHEAT GRAIN COMMITTED

In April 2010, wheat grain committed for domestic use or export fell to 4.7 million tonnes. Of the total wheat grain committed, 3.5 million tonnes was contracted for export with domestic use falling to 1.2 million tonnes.

All states reported decreased export commitments from March 2010 except Queensland, up by 45% to 330 thousand tonnes and South Australia, up by 32% to 564 thousand tonnes.

Compared to April 2009, wheat grain committed for export increased by 5%, while wheat grain committed for domestic use increased by 37% in April 2010.
