INTRODUCTION

This chapter provides an introduction to the Recorded Crime - Offenders collection and how it fits within the criminal justice system. Chapter 2 presents a summary view of offenders proceeded against by police for the seven available states and territories. Chapters 3-9 present selected data about offenders for each of the respective states and territories, except Western Australia. Indigenous data are available only for New South Wales, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
