DWELLING UNITS APPROVED STATES AND TERRITORIES


SUMMARY COMMENTS

The trend estimate for total dwelling units approved fell 1.1% in January 2007. The trend fell in states and territories other than Queensland (+1.9%) and South Australia (+0.6%) and in Tasmania (no change).

The trend estimate for private sector houses approved fell 1.6% in January 2007. The trend rose in Queensland (+0.5%) was flat in South Australia and fell in New South Wales (-2.1%), Victoria (-3.2%) and Western Australia (-2.7%).
