BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for Australia rose 1.6% in February. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 3.2% to 18,768 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved was flat in February. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 0.1% to 9,441 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses rose 3.3% in February. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 6.0% to 9,102 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved rose 2.3% in February and has risen for 11 months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building rose 0.4% in February and has risen for three months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved fell 1.4% in February and has fallen for two months.
