INTRODUCTION
This release presents statistics on Research and Experimental Development (R&D) undertaken by Australian higher education institutions for the calendar year ended 31 December 2014.
Users should refer to the Explanatory Notes tab for further contextual information when interpreting these results.
STRUCTURE OF THIS RELEASE
There are two components to this release; web based information and data cubes. The data cubes found under the Downloads tab contain detailed data that underpins the tables, graphs and commentary included in the web based information.
DATA QUALITY
When interpreting the results in this release it is important to take into account factors that may affect the reliability of estimates. These factors are described in the Non-Sampling Error section of the Technical Note under the Explanatory Notes tab.
CHANGES IN THIS ISSUE
Detailed tables (for Type of expenditure, Source of funds, Type of activity and Type of resource by location) previously available in the web based information component of the publication, are now only available as data cubes; see the Downloads tab.
