17/08/2011 Seasonal Adjustment of Consumer Price Indexes (cat. no. 6401.0.55.003) release has been postponed to 14 September 2011.

05/08/2011 Following the release of the CPI on 27 July 2011, an error was found in the commentary. Please note that banana prices increased 377% not 470% in the six months to June quarter 2011. This error only impacted the commentary - the underlying data contributing to the calculation of the CPI and all the data shown in tables, graphs and time series spreadsheets for the June quarter are correct. The commentary in the Main Contributors to Change and the Media Release have been updated.
