New ABS quarterly government finance statistics publication The Australian Bureau of Statistics is pleased to announce a new quarterly Government Finance Statistics (GFS) publication. The first release of the new electronic publication (cat. no. 5519.0.55.001) is scheduled for Wednesday 17 March, 2004. It will contain general government aggregate tables, for the current December quarter 2003, for total state and local, Commonwealth and all Australia. There will also be an all Australia aggregate table for public non financial corporations. Individual general government jurisdictional tables for state and local combined will be provided for quarters up to September quarter 2003. The March quarter 2004 issue will be released with similar timeliness. It is expected that from the June quarter 2004 issue the publication will be released two days prior the quarterly national accounts publication.
