TAXATION PER CAPITA


In 2016-17, taxation per capita was $20,032, an increase of 3.4% from $19,374 in 2015-16.

The Commonwealth Government taxation per capita increased by 3.6% from $15,425 in 2015-16 to $15,985 in 2016-17.

The average taxation per capita for state and local governments combined in 2016-17 was $4,079, an increase of 2.5% from $3,980 in 2015-16.

All states and territories, except for Western Australia, recorded an increase in taxation per capita from 2015-16 to 2016-17. The Australian Capital Territory recorded the highest percentage increase in taxation per capita, rising 6.3%.
