This datacube shows the number of children that participated (or did not participate) in organised sport and/or dancing by sex, by the number of hours that they participated in screen activities (in the 2 weeks prior to interview in April 2006). Data is provided at a national level.

Children who participated in dancing as an organised cultural activity have been included with children who participated in organised sport, due to the high participation rate of girls in dancing, and the physical nature of the activity.

Screen activities include watching TV, videos or DVD's and playing electronic or computer games, but does not include other internet or computer activities.
