TableBuilder is available with microdata from the Australian Census and Migrants Integrated Dataset, 2011. Statistical techniques were used to link records from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection's Settlement Data Base to the 2011 Census of Population and Housing without using name and address.

The integrated data available in TableBuilder enables person level characteristics collected in the Census to be cross classified with data items that describe a migrant's entry conditions; visa, main/secondary applicant status and whether an offshore or onshore applicant.

TableBuilder enables users to tabulate, manipulate and analyse data. Steps to confidentialise the dataset are taken to ensure the integrity of data and to maintain confidentiality of respondents. This includes removing any information that might uniquely identify an individual, reducing the level of detail for some items and collapsing some categories.
