Information Paper: Census of Population and Housing - Proposed Products and Services, 2011 (cat. no. 2011.0) Informs Census users of the results of consultations on the 2011 Census output program. Provides information on the proposed products and services for the 2011 Census, and seeks user views on the proposals. Reflecting a Nation: Stories from the 2011 Census, July 2011 (cat. no. 2071.0) This publication presents commentary about the Census. Several historical articles focussing on the 100 years of Census, from 1911 to 2011, have been released during 2011. Analytical output will become progressively available from June 2012, when first data from the 2011 Census is released. Analysis will be included on the following broad areas of interest: population; cultural diversity; living arrangements; community; education; work; and housing. Commentary will include a focus on the strengths of the population census particularly in relation to providing information on small population groups and small geographic areas. State and Territory Statistical Indicators, 2011 (cat. no. 1367.0) This portal provides an overview of the population, economy and environment for each of the Australian states and territories. The portal is updated on a regular basis to ensure the latest data is available. Family Characteristics, Australia, 2009–10 (cat. no. 4442.0) The 2009–10 Family Characteristics Survey collected information on household and family composition, along with demographic and labour force characteristics of persons within households and families. A particular focus of the collection is families with children aged 0–17 years. For those families, additional information is collected about family structures, the social marital status of parents, and contact arrangements for children with a natural parent living elsewhere. Also included is information on children's contact with their grandparents, and about child support arrangements for children with a natural parent living elsewhere. Australian Demographic Statistics, March 2011 (cat. no. 3101.0) Provides quarterly estimates of total population for states, territories and Australia. Includes: the most recent estimates of the population in five-year age groups; numbers (and some rates) of births, deaths and infant deaths; interstate and overseas movements; and quarterly and/or annual time series tables. Also includes: projected resident populations; projected population in households; projected number of households; and projected average household size for states, territories and Australia. Research Paper: Sampling-Based Clerical Review Methods in Probabilistic Linking, May 2011 (cat. no. 1351.0.55.034) This research paper considers sampling-based clerical review methods in probabilistic linking. Probabilistic data linking aims to link records that are believed to belong to the same person from two different data sets. However, there are many record pairs that cannot be automatically assigned a status and are designated for clerical review. Clerical review is a time consuming and resource intensive stage of the data linking process requiring careful visual inspection and keyboard use. Acceptance sampling is proposed to dramatically reduce the amount of clerical inspection, and provide an accurate and reliable means of assessing and setting the most appropriate clerical review bounds.
