EXPORTS AND IMPORTS
On a recorded trade basis, the value of South Australia's exports in February 2010 was $595m; an increase of 25.7% over January 2010 ($473m) but 23.6% lower than the value recorded in February 2009 ($779m).
Wine remains South Australia's dominant export commodity increasing in value by approximately $28m (38.9%) between January and February 2010 and accounting for 16.9% of all exports. Meat and meat preparations (8.8%) and iron ore (7.3%) were the next largest contributors.
The value of Australian merchandise exports for February 2010 was $14,516m; 21.5% lower than the corresponding month of the previous year ($18,503m).
The value of South Australian merchandise imports rose to $490m in February 2010. This estimate represents an increase of 4.8% over January 2010 ($467m) but is 1.9% lower than the value recorded in February 2009 ($499m).
The value of Australian merchandise imports for February 2010 was $15,293m; a slight decrease of 0.6% from the previous month and 7.5% lower than the value recorded in February of the previous year ($16,528m).
