This chronology of Queensland's economic journey presents, with a statistical flavour, some of the key dates, issues and events that helped shape the Queensland economy from 1859 to 2009. Some significant milestones from a governance, policy and social perspective are included in Chapter 1, while the remaining chapters are focused more on economic issues, events and data (including population impacts).
