HUMAN RESOURCES DEVOTED TO R&D

A total of 4,596 person years of effort (PYE) was devoted to R&D by PNP organisations in 2006-07. This represents an increase of 20% from 2004-05.

Researchers accounted for the highest proportion of human resource effort devoted to R&D in 2006-07 (65%), but compared to other types of resource showed the lowest growth (17%) from 2004-05. Increases in PYE for Technicians and Other staff from 2004-05 are 26% and 24% respectively.
