COLLECTION METHODOLOGY

This database records the number of calls to the DV Line and information about callers and/or victims of Domestic Violence. Caseworkers at the DV Line enter information into the database based on the information gathered during the telephone call.

Each caseworker records the information about the calls they receive in an SPSS file. All SPSS files are then collated for reporting purposes.

SCOPE / TARGET POPULATION

A call is a record of communication to the DV Line regarding a person, with or without children, who is experiencing or has experienced domestic violence and is requesting assistance, information about domestic violence or other information.
