Duration from initiation to finalisation

For all federal defendants, the median length of time from initiation to finalisation was 11 weeks. This length varied depending on the method of finalisation. Defendants took longer to finalise if they were acquitted (25 weeks) compared with those withdrawn by the prosecution (11 weeks) and those proven guilty (9 weeks). (Table 5)
