Tasmania participates in the CrimTrac through the Department of Police and Public Safety. The Department has established a formal structure to undertake the CrimTrac Program, namely the NAFIS and DNA Projects. In particular, the Department is using CrimTrac to reduce the incidence of property and motor vehicle offences.
