The ABS will conduct a National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Survey (NATSIHS) between August 2004 and June 2005. NATSIHS is expected to be run every six years to coincide with every second National Health Survey (NHS). The survey will focus on health service use (e.g. doctor, dentist, hospital and other health professional consultations), health risk factors (e.g. dietary behaviours and smoking) and health status indicators (e.g. asthma, cancer and diabetes).
