FREE ABS DATA ON THE WEB
As a result of the recent federal budget, the ABS received funding to provide publications free on the web. From 1 July, the range of free content on the ABS web site, previously limited to "Main Features" for most statistical releases, was expanded to include electronic publications (PDF and HTML based content). This includes all PDF and HTML publications currently available from AusStats and ABS@ (which is continuing), as well as new releases. In addition, electronic tables in spreadsheet or data-cube format which contain "publication tables" are also free.
