Migration, Australia, 2005-06 (cat. no. 3412.0)
Released annually, this publication brings together statistics on international and interstate migration and information on overseas-born residents. Migration is described in the context of the Australian Government's migration program and comparisons are provided with other countries. In 2005-06 net overseas migration (134,600 people) made up just over half (51%) of Australia's total population growth for the year.

Overseas Arrivals and Departures, Australia, Feb 2007 (cat. no. 3401.0)
This publication provides time series data on short-term, long-term and permanent movements. Data such as permanent movements by country of birth for major groups and selected source countries are available in Excel format.

Australian Labour Market Statistics, Apr 2007 (cat. no. 6105.0)
This quarterly publication draws together data from a range of sources, mostly ABS household and business surveys, to provide an overall picture of the labour market. For example, labour force status (e.g. employment, unemployment and participation rate figures) is available by country of birth and also year of arrival in Australia. The publication also includes feature articles on various topics.

More recent data are available from Labour Force, Australia, Detailed - Electronic Delivery, Feb 2007 (cat. no. 6291.0.55.001). In SuperTABLE format, these data are released each month. The next release is expected on 19 April.

Job Search Experience, Australia, Jul 2006 (cat. no. 6222.0)
Information is presented about the experiences of unemployed people in seeking work, in terms of the steps they have taken to find work and the difficulties they have encountered in finding work. This was obtained from the Job Search Experience Survey, conducted in July 2006 as a supplement to the ABS monthly Labour Force Survey.

Education and Work, Australia, May 2006 (cat. no. 6227.0)
This annual publication provides information about the educational experience of people aged 15 to 64 years. For example, data show the number of Australian-born and overseas-born people who are enrolled in a course of study (by state and territory), the proportion with a non-school qualification (by state and territory), and the level of their highest non-school qualification (e.g. certificate, diploma, Bachelor degree or postgraduate degree).

Children's Participation in Cultural and Leisure Activities, Australia, Apr 2006 (cat. no. 4901.0)
Information is presented about the participation of children aged 5 to 14 years in activities outside school hours. These activities include playing a musical instrument, singing, dancing, drama, participation in organised sport, attendance at performing arts events, visits to libraries, art galleries or museums, skateboarding or rollerblading, bike riding, watching tv, videos or DVDs, computer and internet use, art and craft, reading for pleasure, and homework or other study. Data are provided by activity for children born in Australia and overseas (with two subgroups, main English speaking countries and other countries).

Marriages, Australia, 2005 (cat. no. 3306.0.55.001)
Released in December 2006, this publication provides information on marriages registered during the 2005 calendar year. Data, in Excel format, indicate the country of birth of the bride and bridegroom, and whether they are from the same or different countries of birth. Other information includes the median duration of residence in Australia, previous marital status, cohabitation prior to marriage, the median age at marriage, and the category of celebrant (i.e. religious or civil).

Deaths, Australia, 2005 (cat. no. 3302.0)
Statistics on deaths registered in the 2005 calendar year were released in December 2006. These include data for males and females by selected countries of birth and details of duration of residence.
