The directory provides researchers with a ready reference to sources of statistical information about transport.

The main section presents details of transport-related data sources by broad subject heading. Each data source contains the following information:

Name of Collection;

Purpose;

Data Detail;
Geographic Coverage;
Frequency of Data Availability;
Historical Data; and
Products and Services.

Some entries contain an 'Example of Information Available' which illustrates the type of data that are available from the data source. A subsidiary section lists the various organisations that contributed information in the directory and other organisations that only provided contact details.
