Production of carrots in Tasmania has increased noticeably in recent years. In 1999-2000, carrot production was 35,000 tonnes, an increase of 67% on the 1995-96 figure of 21,000 tonnes.

Most carrots in Tasmania are grown in the Mersey-Lyell region; growing export markets have encouraged increased production.
