Victoria produced more apples than any other state in 2006-07. Victorian farmers produced 116,000 tonnes of apples, ahead of New South Wales (37,000 tonnes) and Western Australia (32,000 tonnes).
The main apple varieties grown in Victoria in 2006-07 were:
- Granny Smith (40,100 tonnes)
- Pink Lady (27,400 tonnes)
- Sundowner (11,700 tonnes)
- Gala (10,700 tonnes)
- Golden Delicious (8,700 tonnes)

In 2006-07, 60% of all apples produced in Victoria came from the Goulburn Statistical Division (70,000 tonnes) and 25% came from the Melbourne
Statistical Division (28,000 tonnes).
