Broad Description
This publication presents information about persons who worked more hours at home than elsewhere in either their main or second job.

Purpose of Data
The information collected enables an assessment of change in the nature of employment and of the importance of home based employment.

Detailed Description
Population
Data from the survey relates to persons aged 15 years or more who were employed at home.
Superannuation Data Items
Data are available on the number of persons employed at home who are covered or not covered by superannuation.

Source
This survey is conducted by the ABS as a supplement to the monthly Labour Force Survey.

Method of Collection
The Labour Force Survey is dwelling based and covers about three-fifths of one percent of the Australian population.

Frequency
Irregularly.

Timeliness
Data becomes available six months after the reference period.

Historical Data
Data are available for the years 1989, 1992, and 1995.

Geographic Breakdown
Standard labour force dissemination regions are available.

Confidentiality and Availability
Data are not available where a significant level of relative standard error exists or where data are confidential.
