OCTOBER KEY POINTS
ORIGINAL ESTIMATES
- In original terms, October 2013 imports on an international merchandise trade basis were $22,268m, an increase of $1,016m (5%) on the revised September 2013 merchandise imports of $21,252m.
PRELIMINARY BALANCE OF PAYMENTS GOODS IMPORTS
- Preliminary analysis shows that goods debits (imports) on a balance of payments basis in original terms rose $1,716m (8%) between September and October 2013.
- In seasonally adjusted terms, goods debits rose $186m (1%) between September and October 2013 to $22,317m. Intermediate and other merchandise goods rose $85m (1%), consumption goods rose $78m (1%), capital goods rose $23m and non-monetary gold rose $1m.
REVISIONS
- Revisions have been made to the previous six months to incorporate the latest administrative data relating to international merchandise trade.
- The preliminary balance of payments debits estimates incorporate the latest available data.
