This publication contains estimates of the quantity of grain stored in grain storage facilities operated by major bulk grain handling companies and grain traders in Australia as at 30 November 2006.


KEY POINTS

The total quantity of grain held in storage facilities operated by the major grain handling companies at 30 November 2006 was 15.1 million tonnes. This was a 44% increase on the October stock level. The major contributor was wheat with 10.2 million tonnes, 33% more than in October. In the month of November, stocks of barley almost doubled while total oilseeds, sorghum, other feed grains and pulses rose 40%.
