JUNE KEY POINTS


ORIGINAL ESTIMATES
  • In original terms, June 2013 imports on an international merchandise trade basis were $18,434m, a decrease of $1,648m (8%) on the revised May 2013 merchandise imports of $20,082m.


PRELIMINARY BALANCE OF PAYMENTS GOODS IMPORTS
  • Preliminary analysis shows that goods debits (imports) on a balance of payments basis in original terms fell $1,580m (8%) between May and June 2013.
  • In seasonally adjusted terms, goods debits fell $413m (2%) between May and June 2013 to $20,144m. Intermediate and other merchandise goods fell $598m (7%) with fuels and lubricants down $489m (14%). Non–monetary gold fell $59m (14%). Capital goods rose $163m (3%) and consumption goods rose $80m (1%).


REVISIONS
  • Revisions have been made to the previous six months to incorporate the latest administrative data relating to international merchandise trade.
  • The preliminary balance of payments debits estimates incorporate the latest available data.
