MARCH KEY POINTS


FINAL DEMAND (EXCL. EXPORTS)
  • rose 0.4% in the March quarter 2019.
  • mainly due to rises in the prices received for Other agriculture (+10.3%), Heavy and civil engineering construction (+0.4%) and Tertiary Education (+1.7%).
  • partly offset by falls in the prices received for Petroleum refining and petroleum fuel manufacturing (-3.1%), Accommodation (-2.8%) and Pharmaceutical and medicinal product manufacturing (-1.9%).
  • rose 1.9% through the year to the March quarter 2019.


INTERMEDIATE DEMAND
  • rose 0.1% in the March quarter 2019.
  • mainly due to rises in the prices received for Electricity supply; gas supply; and water supply, sewerage and drainage services (+3.0%), Other agriculture (+4.3%) and Textile, leather, clothing and footwear manufacturing (+0.8%).
  • partly offset by falls in the prices received for Petroleum refining and petroleum fuel manufacturing (-7.4%), Oil and gas extraction (-7.1%) and Basic polymer manufacturing (-5.3%).
  • rose 2.5% through the year to the March quarter 2019.


PRELIMINARY DEMAND
  • rose 0.1% in the March quarter 2019.
  • mainly due to rises in the prices received for Electricity supply; gas supply; and water supply, sewerage and drainage services (+3.1%), Textile, leather, clothing and footwear manufacturing (+0.6%) and Metal ore mining (+6.5%).
  • partly offset by falls in the prices received for Petroleum refining and petroleum fuel manufacturing (-7.4%), Oil and gas extraction (-7.0%) and Basic polymer manufacturing (-5.2%).
  • rose 2.9% through the year to the March quarter 2019.
