This publication contains estimates of the quantity of grain held in grain storage facilities operated by the major bulk grain handling companies and grain traders in Australia as at 31 March 2008.


KEY POINTS


The quantity of grain held in storage facilities operated by the major bulk grain handling companies at 31 March 2008 was 12.4 million tonnes. This is a decrease of 8% from the level in February 2008 but an 7% increase on the March 2007 level. The stocks of 'Sorghum, other feed grains and pulses' have increased by 35% since February 2008, reflecting the harvesting of summer grown crops.
