KEY POINTS

Gross value quarterly original movements for June 2017:
  • The gross value of sheep and lambs increased a further 2.0% to 992 million following a 7.2% increase in the March 2017 quarter.
  • Conversely, after a 4.9% decrease last quarter, the gross value of cattle and calves increased 7.8% in the June 2017 quarter, up to $2.9 billion.
  • After decreasing 3.9% last quarter, the gross value of pigs continued to decrease, dropping a further 3.3% to $335 million.
  • The gross value of poultry marginally increased (up 0.8%) to $688 million, following a 0.3% increase in the March 2017 quarter.
