The ABS is ceasing publication of a PDF as part of the release of Labour Force, Australia (cat. no. 6202.0). This issue is the final release with a PDF.

MONTHLY UNDEREMPLOYMENT ESTIMATES
Monthly trend and seasonally adjusted underemployment and underutilisation series are located in Time Series Spreadsheets 22 and 23 and PDF tables 20 and 21. Time Series Spreadsheets 24 and 25 contain new expanded analytical series of underutilisation.

NEW LABOUR FORCE SURVEY SAMPLE
As previously highlighted, the ABS is currently phasing in a new sample design. This began with the incoming rotation group in July 2018 and will continue through to February 2019. An information paper titled Information Paper: Labour Force Survey Sample Design, Jul 2018 (cat. no. 6269.0) was released on 30 July 2018 with detailed information on the new sample. As with each regular sample design, the impacts on the data are expected to be minimal and the ABS will monitor the quality of the estimates over the period the sample is phased in.
Estimates of changes shown on the front cover and used in the commentary have been calculated using unrounded estimates, and may be different from, but are more accurate than, movement obtained from the rounded estimates. The graphs on the front cover also depict unrounded estimates.
The estimates in this publication are based on a sample survey. Published estimates and movements are subject to sampling variability. Standard errors give a measure of sampling variability. The interval bounded by two standard errors is the 95% confidence interval, which provides a way of looking at the variability inherent in estimates. There is a 95% chance that the true value of the estimate lies within that interval.
