Note - FINAL ISSUE
As foreshadowed in the information paper, Improvements to Australian Bureau of Statistics Quarterly Business Indicators (cat. no. 5677.0), this is the final issue of Company Profits, Australia. This publication has been replaced by a new publication titled Business Indicators, Australia (cat. no. 5676.0). The first release of 5676.0 is in respect of the September quarter 2001 and was released on 30 January 2002.
Business Indicators, Australia contains data which are generally consistent with data previously released in Company Profits, Australia, however there are a number of important changes.
In addition to profits, Business Indicators, Australia will also include series relating to inventories and income from sales of goods and services, and from December quarter 2001, wages and salaries.
Time series spreadsheet users should note that a number of tables contain cells where data will not be released until the December quarter 2001. These cells will appear blank in the spreadsheets.
