TREND ESTIMATES

The trend estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for March 2008 (473,300 movements) increased slightly by 0.3% compared with February 2008 (471,700 movements). This followed monthly increases of 0.2% for January 2008 and 0.3% for February 2008. Over the previous year the trend estimate has remained relatively stable.

SEASONALLY ADJUSTED ESTIMATES

The seasonally adjusted estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for March 2008 (477,200 movements) increased by 0.8% compared with February 2008 (473,600 movements). This followed a monthly decrease of 0.4% for January 2008 and a monthly increase of 1.5% for February 2008.
