ABOUT THIS RELEASE
Information on salinity and land management was collected in the 2002 Land Management and Salinity Survey and the 2001 Agricultural census. This included data on the extent of salinity, the use of trees, crops, pastures and earthworks for salinity management, as well as the factors influencing land management decisions on farms.
Data is available for each State and for the regions identified in the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality. It is also available by agricultural sector, by irrigator/non-irrigator, by EVAO and by farm size.
