ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY

For Victoria, the total value (at current prices) of engineering construction activity (work) done during September quarter 2009 was $2,293.3 million, a decrease of 5.0% from June quarter 2009 and an increase of 16.2% over September quarter 2008. Work done for Electricty generation, transmission etc. and pipelines (21.0%) and for Roads, highways and subdivisions (20.1%) each made up more than one fifth of the total value, while 14.2% was for Heavy industry.
