ABOUT THIS RELEASE

This data cube relates to Household and Family Projections, Australia 2001-2026 (cat. no. 3236.0) containing projections of number of families by family type by capital cities/balances of state for states, territories and Australia.

Three assumptions are made about future trends in living arrangements: Series I assumes current living arrangements of the population remain constant to 2026, Series II assumes trends in living arrangements over the past fifteen years continue for five years and then progressively lessen, and Series III assumes these trends continue for the full projection period.
