WESTERN AUSTRALIA

  • From June 2006 to June 2016, the ten SA2s with the largest population increases in Western Australia were all within Greater Perth. The SA2 of Baldivis in Perth's outer south had the largest growth in terms of absolute numbers, increasing by 27,400 to reach 34,300 people. Large growth also occurred in Ellenbrook (up by 23,600 people) in the north-east and Forrestdale - Harrisdale - Piara Waters (18,800) in the south-east.
  • Forrestdale - Harrisdale - Piara Waters was the fastest-growing SA2 (in that it had the strongest growth rate) in Western Australia between 2006 and 2016, up by 1,500%. This was followed by Baldivis (390%) and Bertram - Wellard (West) (300%) in Perth's outer south.
  • Of the SA2s outside of Greater Perth, those with the largest growth were Busselton (7,600) and Australind - Leschenault (5,900), both in the south-west of the state. The SA2s with the fastest growth were Dalyellup (157%), an outer suburb of Bunbury, and East Pilbara (79%) in the state's far north.
