A brief overview of the differentials in prevalence and incidence of the types of cancer suffered, risk factors, cancer screening practices, trends in morbidity and mortality in Australia. Data regarding persons living outside hospitals, nursing and convalescent homes, and hospices in Australia are provided from the 2001 National Health Survey, while other data is provided from both ABS and other sources.
