Grain sorghum and wheat are the main cereal grain crops grown in Queensland. In 2002-03, Queensland farmers produced 929,700 tonnes of grain sorghum.

In 2002-03, 68% of all grain sorghum produced in Queensland came from the Darling Downs Statistical Division (636,100 tonnes).
