Wheat is grown predominantly west of the Great Dividing Range, extending along the centre of NSW from the Northern Statistical Division down to the Murray Statistical Division.

In 2004-05, production was 7.5 million tonnes.

In 2004-05, 30% of all wheat produced in NSW came from the Northern Statistical Division (2.3 million tonnes). This was followed by the North Western Statistical Division with 1.6 million tonnes.
