Tasmanian marine farming activity is an increasingly important part of Tasmanian primary industry. It accounted for 40.8% ($136.2m) of the value of marine fishing in 2001-02. This was an increase of 80.6% on the value for 1997-98. Production of 18.9 tonnes in 2001-02 was an increase of 89.0% on production for 1997-98. MARINE AQUACULTURE, Tasmania
